Stijn Terpstra (b. 2000) visual artist, based in Breda, The Netherlands.

My practice is grounded in a research-based working method. Through my work, I aim to propose ambiguity and question the implications of technology on our perception of the world. My interest in forms of measuring and calculating the world around us drives me to visually explore the gaps in our knowledge and understanding. I examine photography as a means of representation by looking at photographic traditions in modern visual culture, as well as its historic and scientific use. With image-based projects, I depict scenes, objects, and landscapes providing a perspective into the complexities of our contemporary reality.
