Stijn Terpstra (b. 2000) visual artist, based in Breda, The Netherlands.

My practice combines a theoretical and socially engaged working method. Within image-based projects I challenge assumptions about the applications of technology and how it’s used to further understand and manage the world around us. I question the insinuated uniformity claimed by digital thought and examine our changing relationship with nature. The combination of constructed and documentary photography creates a reality that invites uncertainty and interpretation. In doing so, I simultaneously explore photography as a means of representation and experiment with broadening the viewers perception
